RE: Anybody ever come across defective eternabond tape?

damac,
You're not alone. I did my moho roof/wall seam over a year ago. When applied,pre-cleaned w/laquer thinner and it went down nicely, looked great. However, I too noticed and area bubbling up. This 3" area was smack dab in the middle of a very long run. Either side of the bubbled area was still as secure and bubble-free as it was day 1. Looked closer at the problem area and determined that they were actually bubbles filled with water, not air bubbles. Hmmm, very strange as I could see no way for water to get where it is. I used 4" tape and both edges remain solidly attached. I'm clueless as to why this small section did not adhere as well as the rest of the run has.
To minimize the bubble I used a sewing needle and popped it, allowing the accumulated water to drain. The self sealing properties of the adhesive within this area has not worked. The blister is still visible, like the spot has been stretched and will not lay flat again. Very, very weird.
Come spring, I'll probably just cutout the area and remove, re-clean and
re-apply and hope it sticks this time.

RE: GAS ONAN WON'T START

Is your fuel tank full? When you say running fine with AC on and then starts throbbing, sounds fuel starved to me. If main tank is low, you might be right at the pickup point for the genset fuel line.

RE: Frozen pipes or inlet issue?

My guess is frozen check valve within the water inlet. It doesn't take much to freeze that solid. Agree with the hair dryer or light bulb for thawing. Once thawed and flowing, with the temps predicted for tonight I'd leave the light bulb on.

RE: Your help appreicated

Not sure about a moho this old but on my 97 Winne I have 2 dash switches that do different things. The MOM switch engages the house battery to the chassis battery for a boost in power for starting the engine. The 2nd switch is a house battery disconnect switch which will isolate the house battery. It will neither charge, nor discharge...isolated. Used for long term storage.
Chassis battery condition? Alternator? Belts? Good luck!

Mine has been plugged in since install, 5 years ago. I don't even have a TT anymore, but it's still plugged in.

RE: HWH LEVELERS

decan9,
On my coach the reservoir is behind the passengerside tag axle. A simple chrome cap is screwed into the top of the tank. Raise jacks, close slide and unscrew cap. There is a dipstick under my cap. I've been told 1" below the cap is good.

RE: yet another winterizing question

Oh for sure, the tank gets drained, after the lines are filled w/pink. That has been my finding...no pressure, no seepage. In the end, we all are getting to the same place...winterized.

RE: yet another winterizing question

ShapeShifter,
Sorry for the late reply, was away. I don't trust the bypass to be 100% leak/seep free. By leaving the tank full of H20,there is very little chance for any antifreeze to get in. Thus easier Springerizing.

RE: yet another winterizing question

This is what I do. First, drain as much water out of your system via the low point drains. I then set the water heater to bypass. I do not drain the WH tank just yet. In fact, I drain it only after all lines, both hot and cold, have the antifreeze in them.I turn suction bypass valve at the pump to draw from the pickup tube, placed into the gallon of RV antifreeze. Go inside and turn on pump. Then, one at a time, I open each faucet until the pink is flowing. Don't forget the toilet water valve, the outside shower, and the city water connection.

You might luck out like I did. Bought my coach in April in Florida and noticed the heater bypass. Re-connected it and it worked like a charm. Must be a FL thing.

RE: LP Alarm HELP!!!

Mine went off this weekend about 7:00AM. Would not reset. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it has been fine. I suspect a dog sleeping nearby. If it does it again, I'll replace it.

RE: How do I recaulk a shower skylight?

I used Eternabond Tape for a permanent fix. I got tired of climbing the roof every year to apply new caulk over failed caulk. Take close look at the skylight itself, many have found micro cracks in the plastic that have allowed water to infiltrate. If you stick to your plan, clean up any loose material, clean the surface and apply to screw heads. Under the skylight flange, manufacturers used butyl tape (or should have) that forms the seal between roof and flange.

RE: adding creative new sleeping space

My couch is a jack-knife type, it simply folds flat for one sleeper. I keep an aero bed and pump in storage for when the kids want friends to sleepover. Simply fill it and put it on the floor and everyone is happy and comfy.
